God's great creation

 God’s great creation
O Gracious God
I can see the koru dancing and swaying in the wind.

I can feel your love for me like a koru taking care of a newly grown koru.

I can hear the sound of the snakes that you have created and it makes me think about the day you created the entire world.

God thank you for everything you have created in this magnificent world.

Russian fisherman catches a fish with human teeth

Fisherman catches a fish with human teeth
There was a Russian fisherman that caught a fish with human teeth!! Scientists say that this fish is an abnormal fish.

This fish was caught by a man named Aleks Korbov and he was 50 years old when he caught the fish with human teeth. The fish was caught or found in the Atlantic ocean in the Gulf of Mexico. It has lots and lots of teeth and molars inside his mouth. This fish is not from the piranha family.

I wonder if there are more fish like that out there in the sea and if there are it would be awesome!!

Failed
None of these Healtheries tea bags flew up

Results: Not all tea bags flew up in the air because the tea bag was not cut open properly. The tea bags flew because the hot air carries the tea bag and the it will fly.

Conclude: I conclude that one tea bag both flew and one only had one that flew in the air and those are Hyleys ( both flew) and Bell ( one flew).

The plight of the sea turtle

Plight of the sea turtle
Screenshot 2014-11-19 at 10.40.34.pngSea turtles have been living for more than 100,000,000 million years but now they are almost extinct because people are killing them!! People are buying and selling them illegally. That is called black market. The people litter by throwing plastic in the sea and lots of sea turtles can get caught in plastic and it will cause the turtles to die.

Is there any solution to the plight of the sea turtle?
If the people don’t kill sea turtles they will be able to live longer. The turtles can cover themselves with their shell. They can go to a place they can be camouflage and protect their babies from predators that are hunting them down.

Fun facts!!!!
  • Turtles are reptiles

  • They live in hot temperature oceans
  • They live in the pacific ocean
  • The turtles are cold-blooded
  • Sea turtles are endangered

Lunch time at Mary Mackillop center

Lunch time at Mary MacKillop center
Mmmm! We are sitting on the grass eating my lunch with my friends. We are at the Mary Mackillop Center it is our school’s 60th diamond jubilee!

Our school have to sit under a tree because it is very sunny. Rangitoto is just across Mission bay beach. The sun is as bright as 10,000 light bulbs. I can see Ben jumping on the trampoline! I feel the wind blowing on my face. I smell the sweetness of the drink the sisters are giving us. The sisters are very kind. I can see Fr. Peter sitting on the bench. This was the best view I've ever will see in my entire life.

I say it is my best lunchtime of my life!!

My homework

My homework
I am in my house doing my homework (spelling and reading) with my grandad. My grandad is helping me read my Paul Jennings book and do my spelling on the couch.

My grandad says “you are doing great in your spelling”. He is reading my book now. There are so many books in my grandad’s house. In the lounge my grandad has lots of comfy pillows. He has books for adults, teenagers and kids like me. They are nicely ordered from adults to children. My grandad says  “this is an interesting book” and I say “ thank you grandad”. When grandad is turning the page he asked me “do you know this word?” I reply “ yes it is marvellous!” My grandad has a big and fancy piano near the door to his bedroom. I say in my head “wow that is cool!” My grandad has to finish the book before I go back home to my mum and dad because I have to tell my teacher that I finished the book yesterday. My grandad only has one more word to say but then I hear the doorbell ring.

I have to go home now, but luckily I have finished my book. I say to grandad “ bye see you tomorrow after school at three o’clock!” I turn towards the door and say “Hi mum and dad.”

Soccer

Soccer
I play for a soccer club (8 yrs) and I always talk to my coach before the game if I am nervous. I will play in three kings today. I will play with my other teammates in my club.

I feel a little nervous that the team I’m going to play against is going to win. So I will talk to my coach. The coach says“why are you still here” and I say  “ I want to talk to you about the game and I am a little nervous”. I with the coach and start talking. The field is a bit wet so the people might get dirty. I am not yet changed to his uniform. I smell the grass that just got mowed. The bench is creaking while I sit. The field was quite big for their size but it is small for the coach’s size. I am saying that I am nervous because their team is hard and they are top of the table. The coach says I’m not nervous because I believe we will win. “What is our strategy we are going to do?”.We are going to do counterattack in the first half and we are going to do an offside trap in the second half’.   We are surrounded by green leaves and some trees. There are so many birds chirping on the ground. I can hear the leaves swaying in the air. “ I say “I need to get changed now” and my coach says “okay see you on the field”.

As the coach said he believes that they will win so we won 3-0.

The first pineapple

The first pineapple
Long ago, there lived a girl named Pina. She was lazy and just played with her toys when the mother works very hard. The mother would tell to get the broom and she would say "but mom I can't find the broom."
The mom also said to get water from the river but she would say "but mom I can't find the bucket."
The mom got really angry at Pina so the mom growled at Pina. The mom said "you are such a lazy girl I hope you had lots of eyes. The next morning Pina's mom woke up and could not find Pina.
The mom looked and looked for Pina but Pina was nowhere to be found. The mom sat down on the steps of her house and saw a pineapple in the garden. The pineapple looked like it had lots of eyes.
The mom named the pineapple Pinya to remember Pina her daughter.

Peace poem

Peace poem
Peace is happiness from within.
Peace is as bright as a white dove.
Peace looks like a very silent home (place). Peace sounds like children having fun on the monkey bars and slide.
Peace feels like people hugging each other with happiness and joyfulness.

boys building sandcastle

Boys building sandcastle
swish! It is sunny day so we are in the beach. I see 2 boys building a sandcastle and it is still quite small. They have lots of tools they can use to make the sandcastle.

They just finished their last tower If they make a mistake they just put the sand back in the bucket and shape it again. The waves are as big as a truck. I feel very warm because it is very sunny. I can see the cent of the water. The shaped sand looks as fat as a fat cone. It looks like one of the boys is going to hit the sandcastle down. The sand is as soft as a guinea pig. The boys are really happy that they built a sandcastle by themselves. I have to eat lunch but I am still watching them from up here. The sand is as soft as a guinea pig They also have some wet sand to make the sand a bit heavier. The water is as blue as the sky. The sandcastle is wide. Even thoe I did not swim and I still am having fun. I think when they grow up they can build real castle.

The enormous crocodile

The Enormous crocodile

The enormous crocodile is a book written by Roald Dahl. It is about an enormous crocodile that wants to eat little children. He tries to do clever tricks but the animals that heard about it told the children when the crocodile is doing his clever trick. The crocodile is a show off even though he is not smart.

My favourite setting in the book is in the festival because the crocodile really looked like a wooden animal on the roundabout. I like the illustration that made the setting nice and interesting.

I recommend this book to children ages 5-9 because some words are long and hard which is good for 9 year olds. The book is also good for 5 year olds because most of the text are easy and the pictures help the 5 year olds to know and imagine what is happening.

Singing sensation

Singing Sensation
The book singing sensation is from Elisabetta Dami. It is about Geronimo Stilton enrolling in the song festival. He had to go on stage and perform in front of an audience. He was very shy and he only sang when his nephew,Benjamin came on stage and performed with him.

My favourite part was when Benjamin went on stage with Geronimo Stilton. I like the part because it includes Geronimo having confidence.

I recommend this book for children aged 6-9 because it is long and has some hard words. It is a very interesting book because it has interesting words.
